A Travellerspoint blog

December 2005

Christmas is coming...

And the credit card bill is getting fat.

Things are progressing nicely at the moment. Our passports have gone away for visas to get us entry in to Vietnam and Heather has booked our Yangtzee cruise. She has also booked hire cars for the appropriate Australia legs using her staff discount, so we've saved a bit of money there as well.

For my part, we now have accommodation booked everywhere in SE Asia except Vietnam, which I will get on to soon, and also have Rome lodgings booked. Finally, I bought a couple of Eurail passes for us, they cost a fair bit but they should get a good workout.

Oh yeah, and I left my job.

It's all coming together

(This entry is an old post from a previous blog that is being migrated)

Well, it's been over a month since my last post, so time for an update.

As previously mentioned, all Australian flights have been booked. Added to that, all accommodation (except Tasmania and some of Alice) has been done as well. As a newly-enrolled member of the YHA, we are going to be staying in hostels, although not in dorms but double rooms with en-suites (we still have to maintain certain standards).

Tickets to Italy have been bought and paid for, as has our round Asia pass. Currently sorting out places to stay in Singapore and Bangkok. The rest of the holiday, we are going to be more flexible and just fly into a city and see what we can find.

Must sort out visas sometime...
